A table saw is a contractor and a handyman’s best friend, especially because they are very convenient and have many different purposes. Of course there are many different types of table saws, each of which have their own specific uses.
When it comes to being on the go and working on various jobsites, a good portable table saw is the way to go.
This is why we are here today, to talk about the Delta Power Tools 36-6020 10" Portable Table Saw with Stand. It is a great option to go with for a variety of reasons. Let’s not waste anymore time and get right to it!
Before you go out and buy a brand new portable table saw, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind.
Size & Weight – Since you are on the lookout for a portable table saw, you do want to look for one that is not too big or heavy. Being smaller is a bit of an advantage when it comes to saws for the jobsite. However, do keep in mind that the smaller and lighter the saw is, the less space you will have to work with, such as the rip capacity. Also, lighter parts do usually equate to less quality, but not always.
The Stand – An important thing for any portable table saw to come with is a good rolling stand. If you are on the go and setting up the table saw at various jobsites, you don’t want to have to look for a stable and flat surface every time. It is very convenient to have a folding stand that is stable, plus one that has wheels for transportation too.
Power, Depth, & Capacity – Yet another important thing to keep in mind before making your purchase is how much it can cut. First off, for example, the model we are discussing below is a 15 amp model with a blade speed of 5,000 rounds per minute.
That is fairly powerful, or at least about as powerful as a small portable table saw is going to get. Moreover, you will need to consider the size of the materials you will be working with.
If you are going to be working with really thick pieces, the blade elevation needs to be quite high in order to make it through those big pieces. Moreover, you will need a decent rip capacity if you are going to be cutting things like plywood.
Safety Features – Finally, you are going to want to consider what safety features the table saw in question comes with. Things like a transparent blade guard, an easy to reach ON/OFF switch, a kick switch, a riving knife, and anti-kickback pawls are all things that you want to look for.
Your fingers will never grow back once they have been cut off, so make sure that your table saw has adequate safety features!

As we mentioned before, the fence can extend up to 30 inches for a decent ripping capacity. It is located on easy glide rails and is very secure once locked into place.
