How to Start a Pressure Washer

How to Start a Pressure Washer

Pressure washing is extremely effective and can get your home, driveway or large vehicle looking like new. Once you get the hang of using your pressure washer it will seem like second nature. However, sometimes it can seem a bit confusing, especially if it’s your first attempt at pressure washing. Read on for an easy-to-follow guide on how to start your gas or electric pressure washer.

Checklist for all pressure washers

Before starting the washer, there’s a few things you can do to make the job smoother:

  • Make a mental list of the jobs you want to get done
  • Choose your desired detergent if needed
  • Choose the appropriate nozzles for various cleaning jobs
  • Remove any furniture of objects from the cleaning area (those that you don’t want to expose to water and strong pressure)
  • Make sure all of the attachments are in place (wands, hoses, detergent tanks)
  • Use the transportable cart if you don’t want to carry your washer along lengthy or uphill distances (if your washer comes with a wheeled cart)

Starting a gas pressure washer

Gas-pressure washers have an engine and require gas in order to work, just like a car or motorized boat. They are easy to start, but sometimes need a few “pulls” before they kick into action (just like a motorized lawnmower). Here’s how to successfully and safely start your gas pressure washer:

  • Wheel the washer outside and near to the site of your first cleaning job
  • Make sure your water supply is in close reach
  • Choose a flat, even surface to avoid leakages and mess (don’t start the washer on a hill, slope or uneven terrain where it may tip or fall)
  • Check the water tank and strainer for debris and give it a quick clean (dried leaves and grass clippings can sometimes find their way into the strainer). The strainer is the sieve-like cage which sits at the mouth of the water connection on the washer
  • Take the hose and connect it to your water supply and then connect the other end of the hose to the washer
  • Make sure both ends of the hose are tightly and securely connected so you don’t encounter leaks and sprays
  • Take your high-pressure hose (the one you will use to aim and shoot) and connect it to your pressure washer
  • Now choose the right nozzle to suit the job at hand, and screw it into place at the end of the wand, making sure it is correctly fastened and clicked into place
  • Turn the water on at the source
  • Give the trigger on the water gun a few squeezes to release any built-up pressure, air or leftover water out of the system
  • Ensure that the fuel tank is topped-up with sufficient gas
  • Switch on the fuel valve (most gas pressure washers have an “open” symbol for the fuel valve)
  • Switch the choke from “closed” to “open” and ensure the throttle is in “full” position
  • Switch on the engine, (simply by using the “off,” “on” button or turn-switch)
  • Now it’s time to start the engine up: Give the trigger a squeeze as you pull the starter cord
  • You may need to give it a few pulls before it starts, so keep going until it does
  • Once the engine is going strong, close the choke and begin your washing

Starting an electric pressure washer

Electric pressure washers use electricity to control the water flow and pressure. You do not need to bother with gas or pulling starter cords – you simply press a button and go. The process of starting an electric pressure washer is not so different from a gas washer at the start, but here’s a simple rundown to help you anyway!

  • Set your electric pressure washer on an even surface close to your water source and the site of your first cleaning job
  • Check that there is no blockage or dry debris has become stuck in the strainer at the mouth of the water connection on your washer
  • Connect the garden hose from the water source to the washer and make sure each end is tightly secured
  • Choose your desired nozzle and attach it to the end of the cleaning wand
  • Give the trigger on the water gun a few pumps to make sure there’s no excess water or built-up air
  • Connect the power cord to your power source and switch it on at the wall
  • Switch the washer on
  • Go ahead and clean your desired surfaces

  • Carefully consult the manual which came with your gas- or electric-pressure washer before you use it for the first time
  • Ensure that you have all of the necessary parts before you embark on your cleaning task
  • Follow any specified safety procedures or maintenance tips suggested in your manual (use goggles and covered shoes)
  • Some models have different locking systems for water sources and nozzles so ensure you follow the correct procedures so you get an airtight and watertight application
  • If you live in very cold climates, use antifreeze to protect your washer
  • Practice safety when turning on and using a pressure washer: Don’t aim it at anyone, stand on a steady, grounded surface when cleaning, and use the safety lock
  • Make sure you release the pressure before and after you use your washer

Starting your electric or gas pressure washer is easy once you get the hang of the process and follow the correct order. Always consult the manual first, and go slow at first so you don’t miss any steps. Follow the correct maintenance tips for your specific brand or model so your power washer can remain effective and functional for as long as you need it.

Power Washer vs Pressure Washer

Power Washer vs Pressure Washer

Cleaning outdoor surfaces such as house exteriors, patios, driveways, RV’s and boats requires a lot more power than what your average garden hose can provide. Power washers and pressure washers are heavy-duty, high-pressure machines which use water to remove grime and gunk.

Power washers and pressure washers may look the same, and have very similar end results, but there are a few key differences between them. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty washer to handle your tough outdoor cleaning jobs, read on to find out which is best for you: power or pressure?

What is a power washer?

Power washers blast out a stream of heated water at a high pressure from a hand-held wand. The water has been heated to a high temperature, and is often mixed with detergent. The most obvious difference between pressure washers and power washers is the heat factor.

You still get the high-pressure factor with a power washer, but it’s not the only factor to remove the grime and dirt. When hot water is applied to soiled surfaces at a high-pressure, the stains are melted and corroded by the heat as they are dislodged by the pressure at the same time.

You can choose which temperature you would like the water to be heated to, depending on what you are cleaning. The thermostat will tell you what the temperature is, and you can begin your cleaning when it reaches the desired temperature.

The cleaning power of heat, water and pressure can be fortified by adding detergent. Just like washing the dishes, detergent can get outdoor surfaces shiny and clean and help remove caked-on grime. Power washers have a tank especially for the purpose of adding detergent to the cleaning system, so you can add whichever detergent fits your needs.

  • Can remove greasy, oil-based stains and stuck-on messes from hard surfaces
  • Can clean large areas and industrial/commercial areas thoroughly and quickly, saving time and offering quality maintenance of work spaces

  • Power washers can be a lot less sleek and discreet in terms of their construction, as they need to house more technology. If you want a lightweight, compact washer which is easy to store in tight spaces, then consider a pressure washer if your cleaning jobs are appropriate for it
  • Power washers tend to be more expensive than pressure washers, so make sure it’s completely necessary for you to have one before you make the investment

What is a pressure washer?

A pressure washer is a washer designed for exterior cleaning which uses water being blasted at a high pressure through a hose and wand. The cleaning power comes from the pressure at which the water is being blasted, as it forcefully dislodges and moves debris.

The difference between a pressure washer and a power washer is that pressure washers do not heat the water. Pressure washers come with a variety of nozzles which you can interchange.

These nozzles change the width and shape of the water stream so you can customize your cleaning style for each job. More narrow nozzles create a stronger, more powerful stream, and fanned nozzles disperse the pressure for a gentler pressure.

  • Pressure washers are more likely to be compact and lightweight which makes them easy to transport, store, and maneuver from job to job
  • Pressure washers don’t require as much care and maintenance as power washers as their technology and construction is less complex
  • Pressure washers can reach an extremely high level of force, which means you can make non-greasy stains disappear and reveal a new-looking surface underneath
  • Pressure washers are generally far more affordable than power washers

  • Your cleaning options are limited with pressure washers, as they won’t make much of a different on oily stains and baked-on mess. Even if you add detergent to your washer, it’s not going to be enough to corrode greasy substances
  • Like power washers, pressure washers can be a bit dangerous in the wrong hands, as the pressure is high enough to cause injury to people, and serious damage to delicate surfaces and objects

Which one is best for you?

Before you hand your money over for a power washer or pressure washer, think about what kinds of jobs you need it for. There’s no point in buying something which isn’t going to serve you as well as it could. Here are some pointers to help you choose:

Jobs for a power washer

  • Cleaning grease and oil from concrete surfaces
  • Clearing stuck-on weeds, mold, mildew, moss from in between paving stones and bricks
  • Thick and dried-on mud deposits on concrete driveways, sidewalks or patios
  • Cleaning large areas with lots of caked-on matter
  • Cleaning industrial or commercial spaces where time and efficiency is important, as power cleaning gets the job done much faster than pressure washing

  • Power washers tend to need a bit more maintenance and upkeep as they have heating apparatus
  • Do your cleaning needs justify the cost and maintenance of a power washer, or would a pressure washer be sufficient?

Jobs for a pressure washer

  • Non-greasy stains and debris on driveways and patios
  • Dirt and dust on RV’s and boats
  • Clearing large deposits of leaves, weeds and dried grass
  • Clearing dry grime (dust and mud) from house exteriors

  • Greasy and oily messes won’t be cleaned as effectively with a pressure washer as they would with a power washer
  • Pressure washing tends to take a bit longer than power washing, due to the lack of heat being applied to the surface, so it’s best for smaller jobs

When comparing power washers and pressure washers, it all comes down to the temperature of the water. Power washers use heated water to melt away gunk and greasy messes, while pressure washers use pure force to dislodge and shift dryer materials. Both are just as good as the other, because it all depends on the job at hand. Assess your cleaning needs and match them up to the washer that best fits the job.

How to Pressure Wash Your House

How to Pressure Wash Your House

When you look at a nice, clean house, you look at a work of a pressure washer. A pressure washer is a machine that gives you a big boost in cleaning home exteriors. It is a specially-designed tool which sprays high-pressured water, cleaning dirt and mildew and making your house perfect again. But don’t be fooled by its superior look – cleaning your house is not something to be taken lightly. It needs time, energy and a lot of preparation. Preparation is the most important thing, because your idea of a perfect house could end up disastrous pretty quickly.

First of all, when you make a decision to buy a pressure washer, you need to research. You must keep in mind that various types of facades withstand various types of pressure washers. This means that different housing materials can take different amounts of pressure.

For example, painted soft-grain wood can withstand no more than a 1500 PSI (pound per square inch) model. Also, a wide spray nozzle may be needed to release the water pressure from one point. Otherwise, you may find holes and faded color on your facade, especially when it comes to extremely vulnerable materials, like stucco.

For stronger surfaces, like vinyl, you can use up to 3,000 PSI. So, when buying a pressure washer, you should pick carefully and accordingly. Some pressure washers have detergent dispensers for a further cleaning solution. Keep in mind that there are some other tools that you need to possess alongside the pressure washer.

You need to have a clean water supply, garden hose, non-phosphate cleaning detergent, scrub brush, plastic coverings and duct tape. A pair of safety glasses should prevent vision-loss from the reflecting dirt. Make a plan and you are ready for action.

Use the plastic coverings to isolate every hole on the surface, as you don’t want accidently to cause mold inside the walls. Also, you must isolate every external light, outlet, electrical meter and other visible cables as well as you can.

It’s best to turn off the main fuse of your house to establish maximum safety. You should know that window screens are no match for high-powered pressure washers. It’s best to avoid the delicate screens. You should remove any kind of flora, too.

Connect your water supply to your machine with a gardening hose. If needed, mix the cleaning detergent and fill the pressure washer’s detergent dispenser. Combine the detergent with water. You are going to need approximately 450 kg of detergent for every 15 liters of water.

Remember to use only detergents intended for pressure washers. When pressure washing with detergent, it’s better to wash from top to bottom. That way the detergent will have more time to do its magic.

Look ahead for any ground instabilities when putting up a ladder to reach higher spots. Clean is good but safety is a priority. Be aware that you need to hold the ladder with one hand and spray with the other. This is the number one cause why pressure washing is considered extremely risky by insurance companies.

Use the brush to manually remove any dirt and mildew from the surface if reachable. Before starting, you should check the pressure washer’s impact on the wall. Test a small section on the wall that you’ve already cleaned.

Try various distances and select the optimal one. The dirt shouldn’t stay and the paint shouldn’t suffer. For the best results, keep the washer on a 75-degree angle for walls and a 45-degree angle for roof overhangs and underhangs.

Don’t spray directly on corner  as the pressure focus grows and at that time these machines are extremely powerful. Start spraying from the top to bottom of the walls, so the dirt will slide down alongside the water and you will leave clean and sparkling walls.

Sometimes you will need to combine it with the brush for more severe mildew and dirt. On some parts of the wall, you may remove the mildew but a green stain will remain. Then you definitely need a cleaning solution of liquid bleach. You should use anti-mildew concentrate. Spray on the area, scrub with the brush, rinse and then wash with the powerful pressure washer machine. It leaves a stainless, remarkable surface. If not, repeat the same procedure.

You should also consider changing the nozzle and experimenting with other varieties. There are three different angles – 15-degrees, 25-degrees and a 40-degree nozzle. There is also a 0-degree nozzle for more heavily-stained surfaces. This is clearly not a nozzle to play with because the water comes out straight, causing a reckless, harmful effect. Use it only to remove massive quantities of dirt.

If you possess a gas-powered pressure washer, make sure that your machine is filled up correctly while working. Expel any excessive air from the hose by pulling the washer’s trigger. You should see the excessive air coming out in the form of steam.

One of the most important things you should practice is to squeeze the trigger to its maximum, so the pump will suffer no harm. You also have to make a consistent side-to-side motion with the hose. That way you put pressure to every part of the facade equally, so no damage will be done.

Pay close attention to all of your future sections on the wall so there is no error that can cause problems

If you plan to repaint your house, pressure washing is a must. Every inch of the wall must be perfectly clean. After you are done, it is best to give the house some time to properly dry out. Usually, this is about two days so the house can be ready for its new skin.

Pressure washers do tend to save water. They can be incredibly effective and efficient. But the coefficient of effectiveness is mostly determined by you. Choosing the correct machine and using it responsibly increases the probability of ending up with a nice, clean, perfect house; just as though it was newly-built.

Pressure Washer Tips

Pressure Washer Tips

Pressure washers have become an essential tool of most households. Whether you want to clean driveways or hard-to-reach spaces, they take care of it all. These reliable and useful contraptions will revolutionize your cleaning methods and keep your home and cars well-maintained.

Beginners tend to view pressure washers as magic wands. Swish and flick it around and your properties will be instantly clean. But in reality, this delicate process take time and it’s a bit more complicated than that. Pressure washers are indeed extremely productive and energy-saving, but selecting the right machine and using it correctly plays a huge part in achieving the best results.

There are two types – electric and gas-powered. Both come with a variety of features and work quickly and dramatically. We will now give you some of the best tips which are applicable for both categories. By practicing these tips, you will be maximizing the potential of your pressure washer and will finish cleaning tasks in the most efficient way possible.

The right tip

The performance of pressure washers is greatly affected by the nozzle/tip. The majority of models on the market come with a variety of interchangeable tips that have two purposes. One is for high pressure water output at different spray angles and the other is to decrease the pressure and draw the cleansing agent.

The nozzles/tips come in several colors – red, green, yellow and white, each with its own function and range of degrees from 0 to 40.

The basic rule is that the smaller the angle, the more powerful the liquid execution. For example, a 0-degree angle nozzle will work best on those pesky smudges you find on your driveway.

For moving garbage or other debris away from your house, a 25 or 40-degree angle nozzle will be more suitable. Caution: make sure that the nozzle is securely attached to the trigger gun before using. As a consequence of not doing this, the tip may harm property or persons or may get lost.

Using chemicals

It is very important that you use detergent and other cleansing solutions that are specially formulated for pressure washer use. Citrus Degreaser and Super Film Remover are two examples. Citrus Degreaser is for removing hard grease and industrial cleaning whereas Super Film Remover is generally used for minor dirt or car washing.

Some pressure washers come with detergent injectors which give a seamless, continuous outflow of the cleaning solution into the water. Unapproved detergents may be harmful for pressure washer components and may not be eco-friendly. Also, keep in mind that different cleaning agents react differently to different materials.

Before starting your cleaning chores, it’s a good idea to test the capability of your pressure washer. Aim a few feet away from the actual object. Keep the hose a few feet away from the item or surface you want to clean.  Slowly move the hose a couple of times back and forth to check if the surface is clean. Slowly move the hose closer to the object if extra cleaning is required. Edging the cleaning wand gradually towards the surface/object is best because the jet of liquid ejected from pressure washers is powerful and may cause damage to the item if it is too close.

Fragile items

Take great care when spraying at or around plants, windows, light fixtures, glass objects etc. They can break if the water pressure is aimed at a directly at them. Furthermore, to avoid spraying under the sides of an object and causing it to collapse, point the trigger gun downwards. Another thing to be mindful of is to be careful when cleaning windowsills. There is a great chance that water might seep through tiny holes and into your home. Alternatively, you can check to see if the window is airtight/watertight.

Maintaining control

It is easy to lose control when pressure washing. It is generally fun to clean with it, but you may get exuberant and start spraying everywhere rather than at a set target. You are more liable to miss spots this way if the area is large and will need to go over it twice. Plan out how you will execute the cleaning; first vertically and then horizontally or vice versa.

Let the solution work

The cleansing agent used needs time to react and do its job. Wait 5 to 10 minutes and not more for the dirt to start dissolving. If you wait too long, the soap suds will begin to dry out. Once you are ready to rinse, use a top-to-bottom approach.

Injuries are not fun

Here are some pointers on how to minimize damage and avoid injury while pressure washing.

Electric shocks

Water is a good conductor of electricity. In most pressure washing situations, it is obvious that you are going to get wet. This is risky and increases your chances of getting electric shocks from outlets and wires. If you will be doing cleaning work requiring a ladder, check beforehand for overhead power lines. Don’t blast water at the main electrical sources of the house such as an electric meter, power outlets or outdoor lights.

Proper support

Your ladder should have good support before you climb it, especially considering that you will be using your pressure washer while on top. The proper angle for a ladder is between 70 to 75 degrees. The tricky part is standing firm on the ladder and using both hands to operate the pressure washer. If at any point you are uncomfortable, call a professional.

Color-coded nozzles

The red nozzle sprays at 0 degrees, the yellow nozzle at 15 degrees, the green nozzle at 25 degrees and the white nozzle at 40 degrees. The red nozzle should only be used for certain applications which require extreme pressure. As mentioned above, keep the hose away a few feet away before gradually bringing it closer to the surface.

Cleaning is a chore which can require effort and is time consuming. By using the correct tools and accessories with your pressure washer and following these tips and tricks, your cleaning tasks will be accomplished efficiently and you will never worry again about keeping your interior and exterior properties consistently well-maintained.

For its ridiculously low price, the AR Blue AR383 is known for its durability and reliability. It is something definitely worth having around the house. This pressure washer is best suited for folks who want it for mainly house chores.

Considering that the AR383 is a budget-friendly electric pressure washer, the products closest to it in terms of performance and price are the AR Blue Clean AR390SS Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer and the Ivation Electric Pressure Washer 2200. Of course, some variation of features will be there but all of the models will, at the end, get the same job done. It is the technique and way of cleaning which will differ.

The AR Blue AR383 generates an astounding 1900 PSI which is 30 times the pressure of a standard garden hose, all the while decreasing water consumption by over 80%. The 11 Amp motor performs impressively but with minimal noise generation. In fact, the entire system is pretty quiet even when the high pressure spray nozzle is in use. You can probably get away with using this cleaning system at night without disturbing anyone.

The good thing about the R383 are the options you get. For standard tasks, use the variable spray lance. You can change the wide fan of the spray pattern to a concentrated center point one by simply rotating the nozzle according to your needs.

For heavy-duty tasks, attach the Turbo lance. This increases the cleaning strength up to 50% by creating a rotating, pulsating high pressure spray. Adding detergent is made easier with the detergent bottle that comes separately with the kit and can be attached directly to the gun. This washer system is much lighter and quieter than a gas pressure washer and its safety is certified by CSA International.

One exceptional reason why the AR Blue Clean AR383 is better than other electric pressure washers in this range is because of its durability. Unlike some of the other models on the market, this one is actually constructed from high quality materials.

The AR Blue Clean AR390SS Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer is an upgraded version of the AR383 but costs more, and the Ivation Electric Pressure Washer 2200 is a significantly more expensive system with major modifications and more features.

The AR383 will definitely save you time spent on cleaning and makes the work less tedious; in fact, it is quite satisfying seeing the water pressure wash down the layers of dirt and grime.

On the whole, the reason why the AR Blue Clean AR383 is a suitable option is because you are basically getting a capable electric power washer which has all the essentials included and is perfect for medium-sized homes and various cleaning projects. Superior results are guaranteed each time and there is no technical jargon involved.

The AR Blue Clean AR383 is our top recommendation for all your daily cleaning tasks, with the AR Blue Clean AR290SS Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer being the runner-up. Both models are from the same brand and differ more or less only in price. The Ivation 2200 is suitable if you are looking for a more powerful machine for more than just day-to-day cleaning tasks.

The Ivation Electric Pressure Washer 2200 PSI 1.8 GPM with Power Hose Nozzle Gun and Turbo Wand, All Parts Included, W/ Built in Soap Dispenser is an excellent product that has many 5 star reviews on Amazon. You will love the simplicity and durability that this unit offers, and how it rises to the occasion whenever you want your household washing chores done.

It is an ingenious tool with various useful attachments and a soap dispenser that will make your life much easier and make you wonder why you hadn’t gotten this product before.

There are other attachments available with the unit as well, such as a gun handle, a turbo wand, and a spray wand. The turbo wand is useful for hard-to-reach areas such as the undersides of a vehicle. The soap dispenser allows for a deeper cleaning in situations where you need to use detergent with water. And the best part is that the Ivation 2200 comes at a very low price, making it affordable for all!

The innovative Ivation 2200 seems to be the complete package as a powerful washer that can be used to perform diverse cleaning tasks. It can be used on a variety of surfaces and is incredibly portable and easy to use. Automatic features such as self-suctioning and auto-shutoff add that much more to its value.

When compared to other contenders on the market, the Ivation Electric Pressure Washer has a lot of value for money. T

he only good alternatives to this amazing tool are the Sun Joe SPX1000 1450 PSI 1.45 GPM 11.5 Amp Electric Pressure Washer and the AR Blue Clean AR383SS 1900 PSI Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer.

The Ivation 2200 is an ideal tool for cleaning homes, cars, boats, RVs and driveways. It is a powerful tool, delivering 2200 PSI of pressure and although it may not reach all the way up to your second-story siding, it will still get most of your jobs done. An overwhelming number of customers have found it to be very versatile and have given it very positive feedback.

This model is simpler and much more powerful than gas-powered washers. It allows the user to control the spray volume, thus delivering optimum power and saving waste. Really, there aren’t very many downsides of the product itself.

However, Ivation is a relatively unknown brand and you might be hard-pressed to find replacement parts. If that is a concern, you might look into alternatives such as the Sun Joe SPX1000 1450 PSI 1.45 GPM Electric Pressure Washer, 11.5-Amp and the AR Blue Clean AR383SS 1900 PSI Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer.

Despite a lack of popularity, though, the Ivation 2200 has proved its mettle and has gained impressive customer feedback for light to medium washing requirements. For very heavy-duty jobs, you need something above 2800 PSI.

Residential pressure washing, however, comes in between 1700-2800 PSI pumps. If that is your purpose and if you’re not intending it for an industrial setup or something similar, then the Ivation 2200 is the right tool for you.

You will love the versatility of the Ivation 2200 and how the different nozzles fit in and come handy in different situations.

That, along with its compact size, easy operability and high performance make the Ivation 2200 the ideal choice for you. And, above all, the low price of the unit makes it almost impossible for the competition to beat its value-for-money.

GreenWorks 1500psi

GreenWorks 1,500 PSI 1.2 GPM 13AMP Hand Carry Electric Pressure Washer

Some consumers like to purchase a new electric pressure washer annually because they use them roughly and they just hunt and buy the most affordable model they find, thinking it will deliver the same results as a comparatively mid-range to high-end model. However, if you research what you are buying thoroughly before purchasing, you will buy the best model for your needs which will last you a long time.

For all you homeowners out there, the GreenWorks GW1501 Hand Carry Electric Pressure Washer is for all your house and equipment cleaning needs. For all the vehicle owners out there, do you still wash your car by hand? That is primitive! No need for all that effort! All those annoying oil stains and grime will be gone in a jiffy – just use the right nozzle with the GreenWorks Washer and see all stains melt away!

Although the PSI and GPM of the GW1501 is low-end, its equipment is powerful enough to get the cleaning job done efficiently and restore the former beauty of your assets and possessions. Your concrete steps, patios, stone paths, driveways and brickwork will be good as new! The water pressure is strong yet gentle enough to wash away dirt from glass and windows.

You have a few options for controlling the water flow. The product comes with a 25-degree and a 40-degree Quick Connect Spraying nozzles. 20 feet of high pressure hose extends your reach if needed. The composition of the add-ons are made of strong, durable and flexible materials.

The machine comes fully-assembled in the box, which means that you don’t have to deal with the technical jargon of manuals and start cleaning right away after receiving it. The box also contains a detergent bottle which is attachable with the included nozzles to release foam; convenient for washing cars.

The GreenWorks GW1501 is certified by the PWMA and has passed all their standard tests.

Additionally, a 1-year product warranty comes with the set. The 35-feet power cord has a ground fault circuit interrupter which makes it extremely safe to use with exterior outlets.

  • There are only two spraying tips offered with the product. However, authentic GreenWorks nozzle tips are available for purchase.

The GreenWorks GW1501 is a hand-held, portable and light pressure washer that is easy to carry anywhere, including while travelling. The universal waterproof 13-amp, 1500-watt motor is intensely powerful and ejects 1500 PSO and 1.2 GPM, making the set ideal for ordinary home usage and auto owners. With 4 ½ stars on Amazon, consumers are very happy with this eco-friendly electric pressure washer and even happier with the fact that it is extremely affordable.

The GreenWorks GW1501 is a portable electric pressure washer. In the same category, the Campbell Hausefeld PW135002AV Electric Pressure Washer is the next best alternative. If you are looking for a pressure washer which has a lot more to offer in terms of performance and features at an affordable price, we recommend the Sun Joe SPX1000 Electric Pressure Washer.

If a small pressure washer for small cleaning tasks is what you seek, the GreenWorks GW1501 is one of the best. Not only is it portable and super compact, but it also comes with a foam cannon which is the perfect add-on for washing cars, windows etc. This model also performs well at cleaning driveways and other surfaces, and since it weighs only 12 pounds, you don’t have to worry about dragging it around the house.

GreenWorks is not a very well-known name, which should not be testimony towards its amazing products. While most warranties on electric pressure washers are of 1 year, GreenWorks offers an astounding 4-year warranty! Another major plus point is that this washer comes completely assembled from the factory. You can literally just take it out of the box and start cleaning instantly.

If we compare it with two other similar products in this category and range, the GW1501 is a winner. Sun Joe is an established brand that makes some of the best-selling electric pressure machines. However, the Sun Joe SPX1000 Electric Pressure Washer has less power than the GW1501, but is similar in performance. Surfaces larger than 25 square feet will take a very long time to clean. The SPX1000 can be sluggish at times so don’t expect to use it for larger cleaning jobs.

The second model, the Campbell Hausefeld PW135002AV, is the runner-up. It requires little effort for getting small cleaning jobs done around the house on a daily basis. It is portable, too, and can clean the interior and exterior of houses. All you have to do is attach the hose, plug the cord into an electrical outlet and off you clean!

Again, since this is a portable pressure washer, unless you are willing to invest the time into it, it won’t clean large areas. The Campbell model is new and has little feedback and reviews to ensure a guaranteed reliable purchase so we suggest you stick to the GreenWorks.

The GreenWorks GW1502 pressure washer is your lightweight trusted companion for power cleaning. It is strong enough to restore surfaces and materials to their former glory yet gentle enough to wash window panes or delicate things like the rear view mirror of a car. The model is definitely more than what meets the eye; it is handy, portable and very environmentally friendly.

AR products have a good reputation. The average house owner should have no problem with the AR390SS but if you want to keep your options open, a couple of good alternatives are the AR Blue Clean AR383SS 1900 PSI Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer and the Koblenz HL-410 V Powerful 2200 psi Electric Pressure Washer.

The most remarkable feature of the AR390SS is its ability to produce 2000 PSI. This is comparable to the pressure output of an entry-level gas pressure washer. There are a number of advantages to owning this product. Accessories which come in the box include a nickel, professional-style lance with different nozzle add-ons. The rotary turbo nozzle is for intense cleaning and three quick-connect nozzles are for tasks which require less intensity. Nozzles come in 0° pencil spray, 25° fan spray and a low pressure soap nozzle. The detergent tank for mixing detergents and liquids makes application easier. At the front of the machine is a knob that lets you adjust detergent concentration.

This model is unique, unlike others in the brand line-up. The new and improved aluminum garden hose adapter, larger cord storage and gun holster set this product apart from the original washers from Blue Clean. It has a well-designed body which is extremely durable and can stand hefty tasks. Storage is included for all the components and extra accessories as well as assorted nozzles. Remarkably, this machine generates less noise than gasoline pressure washers.

This remarkable machine is worth every penny and can be used for residential projects such as the cleaning of cars and trucks, patio furniture, driveways, and fences, or it can be used for various commercial tasks including paint preparation and the cleaning of sidewalks. All in all, AR’s new electric pressure washer is an exceptional product and an incredibly useful machine that combines functionality and durability.

The AR Blue Clean AR383SS 1900 PSI Cold Water Electric Pressure Washer is a good alternative with some modifications such as an on/off switch and other minor upgrades. The Koblenz HL-410 V Powerful 2200 psi Electric Pressure Washer is very similar to the AR Blue models except that it has 2200 PSI which is even more powerful.

Finally, the AR Blue AR390SS is worth spending money on, considering that you are getting the power of a gas pressure washer in electric washer form and with little noise. Be it cleaning vehicles, driveways, walls or even some commercial tasks like cleaning sidewalks and paint preparation, this incredible machine will deliver it all! Combining durability and functionality, this is an exceptional product.

The Sun Joe SPX3000 2030 PSI 1.76 GPM Electric Pressure Washer is designed to cater to all your cleaning needs efficiently. The product’s usage is not limited to the house and may be used for more heavy-duty tasks. This electric pressure washer system comes partially assembled from the factory, but it shouldn’t take more than twenty minutes to put together. Considering that the SPX3000 is the number 1 bestseller on Amazon, it is fairly inexpensive and is highly reliable and effective at cleaning pretty much everything.

If you are looking for an all-in-one convenient electric pressure washer system to make your cleaning duties easier, you need not look any further than the Sun Joe SPX3000. However, the AR Blue Clean AR383 Electric Pressure Washer and The Simpson MSH3125-S MegaShot 3100 are good alternatives.

The Sun Joe SPX3000 electric pressure washer is the most convenient and efficient go-to solution to tackle different cleaning tasks, be it homes, cars, offices, driveways and more. The powerful 14.5 Amp 1800 Watt Motor releases maximum water pressure up to 2030 PSI and a 1.76 GPM water flow.

The water pressure is so strong that it can even remove rust from alloys! The switchable dual tanks can be filled with detergents and alternated easily using switches.

Sometimes it gets difficult to drag your machine along while cleaning and the limited power cord is also a hindrance. This device comes with a 20-foot hose and a 35-foot extension power cord for extendibility and reaching inaccessible areas. The rear wheels on the machine gives better mobility of the equipment.

One of the best things about this machine is that the water pressure can be tailored according to your cleaning needs with the option of five quick spray nozzles. The nozzles come in 0º, 15º, 25º, and 40º, and are easy to interchange.

What sets the Sun Joe SPX3000 apart from its competition is the Total Stop System Technology which detects when the trigger is detached and automatically shuts off the motor; saving energy and preserving the life of the motor. Although the gear weighs only 31 pounds and is not too difficult to move around, the rear wheels and the long extensions will ensure easy portability.

The product is made of thick and sturdy plastic and the spray wand is made of steel. Even though setting up and using this electric pressure washer is simple, in case you encounter any problems, the customer service of the brand is prompt and very helpful. Plus, there is a 2-year warranty for any manufacturing defects.

Having said all of that, here are two alternatives to broaden your options. If you are on a low budget and are looking for a quality pressure washer, we recommend the AR Blue Clean AR383 Electric Pressure Washer. Performance-wise, it is not as powerful as the SPX3000 but it has great reviews in terms of reliability and dependability.

For those of you looking for a supremely powerful machine, you might want to check out the Simpson MSH3125-S MegaShot 3100. It is a great alternative; however, it is a gas pressure washer so it will be a complete upgrade. It also carries a more expensive price tag than the Sun Joe SPX3000 but you will get what you pay for; a professional pressure washer.

At the end, it all depends on what your needs are. The Simpson MSH3125 is not for the average homeowner and is for hefty cleaning tasks on a large scale. The AR Blue Clean AR383 ranks second, and the Sun Joe SPX3000 is definitely the winner here. With this product, you will be able to make your day more productive once your cleaning tasks are handled quickly.
